When I started
writing, most of what I wrote was about or involved love. From love poems, love
stories, and essays on love, it was a huge source of fuel for writing. I humbly
present a collection of quotes that may change your perspective on love or
encourage existing beliefs you have. Either way, as always take and use what
you can and disregard the rest!
“Never mistreat,
take for granted, or take advantage of someone in love because sooner or later,
their mind will catch up with their heart.”
“Love is the only
thing that you can give and give and give and never run out of; it is also the
only thing that, the more you give, the more you have.”
“‘They fell in
love.’ Such a rare and special event cannot be done justice by one statement;
it involves so much more than that single sentence could explain: it means two
people that were brave enough to show their scars, vulnerability, rough edges,
happiest thoughts, along with their worst fears, and find a mutual respect,
appreciation, and fondness for one another; they achieved a gift that not many
people get to experience in their lifetime in its truest form.”
“I will make
mistakes, after all I am not perfect, but I will do my best to make them up to
you. I would never hurt you intentionally. I would not for up on you, so I hope
you don't give up on me.
Sincerely,
The Person that
Loves You”
“This may sound
crazy, but to love someone so much that their happiness comes before yours; to
find someone who wants to be with you as much as you want to be with them is a
wonderfully amazing thing. The catch? It's a two-way street, a balancing act.
Both must feel the same way or it falls apart. Once found, however, well, my
friend, I believe you just found Heaven on Earth.”
“They showed each
other that it was alright for their hearts to come out and play; that it was
alright to feel close to someone; that love didn't always end in heartbreak.”
“It seems
everyone's so worried about getting hurt that they forget about letting love
happen.”
“Love should not be
a guessing game. In fact, it shouldn't be a game at all. One should lay all the
cards on the table, and be honest with intentions and feelings. And while some
may hide and bluff with their cards, the true winners are those that lay their
cards down honestly and find what they are looking for because of it.”
“In love, be
willing to fight for them, but never compete.”
“Imagine what the
world could be if we were on the offense with love instead of on the defense
with hate.”
“I loved her as the
sun loves the flower: ever-present, nourishingly, and gently.”
“She walked in with
an air of subtle confidence, a meek yet true manner of carrying herself. Her
kindness was revealed in the smallest of gestures and her humility was present
in her choice of words. Her beauty didn't strike me until after we spoke; it
was too much to take in all at once. It was more than a physical beauty, though
hers was unmatched, but a deeper awakening of something dormant in me; a
stirring of a memory I didn't know I had; a hearing of a song I had never heard
but knew the melody to. My, how could any man not fall in love with her? As
much as I tried, I knew my resistance was futile.”
“I don't love her
because she's beautiful; I love her AND she's beautiful.
“She showed him
something no one else had ever shown him; that it was possible to love someone
more than himself; that another's suffering could bring him more agony than his
own; that someone's life could come before his; that's what she showed him.”
“You silly humans
make me laugh when you say you're ‘not looking for a relationship right now'
-as if you had a choice in when and who you fall in love with.
-Cupid”
“It seems that you
can't make people love or care for something that they don't already love or
care for. They either see your value and act accordingly or they don't and you
move on to someone that does.”
“To the people that claim to hate LOVE: Remember that
the thing that hurt you was a person, not love. If it had been love, they would
not have hurt you. Beware that many things masquerade as love: obsession,
jealousy, control, and loneliness are just a few. LOVE is the greatest thing on
Earth, along with her sister, HOPE.”
“Love is not about chasing someone; it’s not about
being chased or being the one chasing. It’s about chasing after dreams and if
in that pursuit someone runs parallel to you, that is love.”
“One
of the hardest things in life to realize is that the person you love could
never love you like you love them.”
“It’s
called ‘falling in love’ for a reason: it does not have to be forced and cannot
be planned. It just happens naturally, and if you’re lucky, it takes you by
surprise.”
“Unless
it’s a soul-nourishing and breath-taking love, the kind that makes you wonder
how you got along without them before you met them and makes you be a better,
happier person, it is a waste of time. If the person cannot make you smile
simply by thinking of them, they’re not the one. ”
“In love, 100 pennies do not equal a dollar.”
“Even if love doesn't stay, be thankful
for the visit.”
“Love is:
Bringing a blanket when someone's asleep
Giving the last piece of food to the other person
Staying awake to listen to them web when you are dead tired
Hugging them tightly when they need it the most.”
Bringing a blanket when someone's asleep
Giving the last piece of food to the other person
Staying awake to listen to them web when you are dead tired
Hugging them tightly when they need it the most.”
“The best people to love are the ones that you don't have to
try to love.”
“Keep your head up
because one day one person will fight like hell for you, the same as you would
for them, and it will be a deep love. So keep your head up.”
“When speaking of
love, and suffering a broken heart, the student said, ‘You can't drown if you
vow to never swim again.’ To which the master replied, ‘You will also never
choke if you don’t eat.’”
“In love swallow your
pride but NEVER your dignity.”
“There are only two noble
pursuits in life: knowledge and love.”
“True love is not giving
power to the other person, but instead is empowering you to make that person
happy.”
